Today is a sad day in the Newman household.

Today we pen the obituary of a dauntless hero, a feckless adventurer, a fearless dragonslayer, a shameless ham.

Sir Flamey-Flame is no more.

Rhys: (enters living room wearing winter jacket, suspenders, two helmets and Transformers sword with Realistic Robo-Combat Sound Effects)

Mama: Good morning, Sir Flamey-Flame!

Rhys: I not Sir Flamey-Flame anymore, Mama.

Mama: (taken aback) Well, who are you then?

Rhys: (puffs up chest) Sirrrrrr Dragon…y!

Le chevalier est mort. Vive le chevalier!

Here’s Sir Flamey-flame…

…and his successor, Sir Dragony.

And a comic. (Click for legible version.)

  1. Elaine says:

You are in safe hands, Molly. Sir Dragony looks like he takes his hero duties very, very seriously.

  2. Herm says:

Sir Flamey-Flame lives on in our hearts and our memories. But really–a four-year-old deserves a more dignified name. Like Sir Dragony.

  3. Gwyn says:

Okay, that comic is way too funny! I feel the same way about all those chipper people.
And Sir Flamey Flames gear? Sigh. I remember our own Sir Flamey Flame donning his. Thanks for the memory jogger.
