One sloe gin fizz, coming up

‘Cause we’re in Portland, Oregon, baby!

Jim and I are here ’til the 30th… then it’s back to CA and off to Santa Cruz for Joe and Karan’s Drunken Barn Dance (annual New Year’s Eve gala). What fun we’ll have! And any minute now, our beloved buddies Jac and Mike will be arriving here from Gig Harbor to spend a couple days hanging out with us.

How was your Christmas? Ours was lovely. Family, food, noise, presents, video games, noise, crazy children, etc. Altogether exactly as a Christmas ought to be.And the standing rib roast was dee-vine. As were the mashed potatoes (if’n I do say so myself).

Tomorrow (or later today, whatever): Powell’s City o’ Books! And I without a dime in my pocket! Alas! Nothing but the profligate use of exclamation points can adequately express my sorrow/frustration!

  2. christmas was blissfully chaotic. now to try and round up some normalcy, because we could use it!
have fun at powell’s.. gotta love that place!

  3. Mimi says:

Enjoy Powells! Wandering and touching books is just as good (often) as buying. Although you’ll need something for the ride home, won’t you.
    Are you heading my way?

  4. Becky says:

To Powell’s with no money? That’s inhumane!!!! And I should know…I was a poor woman when I worked just four blocks from the store, and it was sheer torture to walk past it every day! LOL!

  5. Gwyn says:

Oh, Powells in the flesh, I’m jealous! I can only surf online. Sigh.

  6. Kim says:

Are you back yet? Did you enjoy the non-stop rain? Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures in the City of Roses. Portland just felt so much cooler knowing you were here! Kim

  7. Katherine says:

On a recent trip to Portland, I spent six hours in Portland- two hours a day for three days. It was amazing.
Love that Loretta & Jack reference… what a song!
