Double-ought seven

Merry belated Christmas and early happy New Year to you all. Are you doing the resolutions thing this year? I’m considering it but it’ll probably go by the wayside like all my other best-laid plans.

Well, we found out that the car is probably totalled. Argh, snarl, spit. Don’t know anything about the other people’s car; do insurance companies usually share that information with you? I really can’t believe that a collision when we couldn’t have been going over 25 mph could have done that much damage.

As we do every year, we’re celebrating the New Year at Joe and Karan’s annual Drunken Barn Dance. (I think Jim and I may be the only people who call it the Drunken Barn Dance.) This is the tenth annual party, and I think we’ve only missed it once. A mistake we have no intention of repeating!

Also: my Christmas present from Jim was the absolute most awesome beautiful fantastic Frye boots in the whole wide world. Pics to follow, probably… thanks, Sweetie!

Also: my nephew Augie is without a doubt the cutest, most talented nine-month-old baby in the whole wide world. Again, pics to follow. (Two best things about Augie: he eats like a champion–I think he ate an entire half-baguette the other day; and, if he does something clever and you clap for him and say "Yay Augie!," he gets the most delighted smile on his face… total applause junkie.)

Happy ’08 to you all! Be safe, be sane… but not too safe or too sane.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about the car. That stinks.
Is the barn drunk, or just the dance?
    Happy new year!

So sorry to hear about the accident–and so glad it was at such a low speed that you found out that your toaster car crash tests like one too! Is this how this car usually performs? That seems awfully fragile.
Maybe you’ll get a Volvo now, like we did after I totaled my car. 🙂
Happy New Year! See you soon!

Awww, sweet Auntie Herm! Speaking of Augie and eating, look at the new photo up on the Heim family blog. He is ricey.
